As of March 5th - and heading into State Tournament - Armstrong 5 Red has a 25-8 record, with five first-place finishes, two second-place finishes, one consolation championship, and one third-place finish.
We have won 22 out of our last 26 games!
Feb. 18-19: After losing a physical game to Minneapolis FAB, 5 Red rebounded with wins against Minnetonka and Chaska to take the Consolation Championship.

Not in our house! Over the Feb. 11-12 weekend, the 5A team took first place in our home tournament, the Armstrong Classic, beating STMA (35-25), Eden Prairie (45-30) and Wayzata (46-38).
During the Jan. 7-8 Andover tournament, the squad beat OMG II (51-17), Hopkins (46-38), Orono (43-36) and Elk River (49-31) to take home the first place trophy, and bring our season record to 13-5!
In a 1-day tournament on Saturday, January 28th, convincing wins against Willmar (50-40), Buffalo (53-27) and Waconia (48-32) gave Armstrong 5 Red the 1st place trophy (a unique trophy, at that!). Special congratulations to Miles V, who had his first double-digit scoring game of the season, with 10 points against Buffalo.
Over the weekend of Jan. 14-15, the boys took home 1st place in a pool play format tournament against Chanhassen (42-33 loss), Cottage Grove (42-25 win) and one of our ongoing rivals, Wayzata (44-36 win).
Balanced Contributions Lead Armstrong 5 Red to wins over Moundsview (44-14), Coon Rapids (47-19), Brooklyn Park (49-46) and Orono (40-38), resulting in a First Place finish at Elk River Tourney on Dec. 3-4.
Over December 10-11, our 5 Red Team bested Chaska (42-36) and Wayzata in the semi-final match (35-34) to make it to the championship game. Although Edina won (41-31), our semi-final win over Wayzata was particularly satisfying, given that Wayzata had beaten us by 19 points (!) just 3 weeks ago, on November 20th.
Thanks to well-rounded contributions from all team members on Sunday, Armstrong 5 Red came away from the Nov. 12-13 Cooper Classic with its first medals of the season. The strong showing against Blaine saw our team improving its chemistry and overall protection of the ball.
